What is this series? A 45-min once a month virtual gathering of people from all walks of life and careers getting together to practice the art of storytelling in a low pressure, fun environment of peers.
Why are we doing this? No matter what field you work or volunteer in, there is a lot of value in being able to tell a story and present to your peers. As a community, the more we create spaces to share, the more we can grow in our own voices and the collective of our community voices.
What to expect: Each month participants will be given a story prompt ahead of time upon sign-up for the event in order to prepare for about a five minute share. There will be a non-mandatory option to receive feedback and have yourself recorded for your own learning value.
To get things started for the first event, we are fortunate to have the help and support of Ryan Takemiya a professional writer, speaker, and storyteller who will outline the series and assist us in getting started. Ryan has led many workshops and events in his career and we are so glad we will be able to utilize his expertise and knowledge for the launch of this series.
