About

The National Association of Asian American Professionals, Washington, DC Chapter (NAAAP-DC) is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization whose mission is to promote and support the professional advancement and personal development of its members through:

  • Sponsoring leadership and business skills workshops and seminars
  • Developing networking opportunities
  • Providing professional mentoring and coaching
  • Partnering with corporations to support their diversity initiatives and Asian representation
  • The membership includes a diverse group of Asian ethnicities, who have various educational backgrounds from business and marketing to science, engineering and technology. Our professionals work in multiple industries that include finance, consulting, technology, manufacturing, legal, academia, and government.

2017 NAAAP National Leader of the Year: Ryan Namata, President
Ryan Namata, was awarded the 2017 NAAAP National Leader of the Year award for his dedication and generosity to the DC Chapter. Under his leadership, Ryan has recruited exceptional leaders, board members, partners, and sponsors. His generous wisdom as a mentor has translated into generous programming for the chapter. Through his vision, NAAAP DC has unified the DC API community to elevate as one.
 

2017 NAAAP National Program of the Year: NAAAP DC Leadership Conference: Disrupt
The NAAAP DC Leadership Conference: Disrupt was awarded the 2017 National Program of the Year award for its stellar keynote lineup, diverse professional development workshops, engaging networking sessions, and operational efficiency. Disrupt was the largest NAAAP DC leadership conference in recent history, doubling anticipated conference attendance, increasing member sign-ups by 40%, and forging new partnerships with corporations and professional organizations. Through this event, NAAAP DC has been recognized as the premier API leadership and professional development organization in the DC-metro area.
